INFORMATION - FORMATION

A permanent educational workshop for research into corporal and
movement creation.

“I never know beforehand what I am going to dance and I also ignore what movements I am going to use. Each time I start to dance, I have the feeling of jumping into space and I never know if I’ll land on my feet. It is only afterwards that I can understand the result of my work.”

The project originates with the sole interest of experimenting and developing the grammars of movement - how a body can be presented and represented, how to train it, how to prepare it to be recognised as an inexhaustible source for choreographic notations, constructing and educating the body to endow it with all that exists but is invisible - in the imagination, the vibration, and the intuition.

The workshop proposes a work of study, analysis, practice, and
reflection, which is why we examine how to rethink thought, how to educate the imagination, how to learn to observe, how to imagine, how to work on the recognition of patterns, transformation, and abstraction.

The work sessions will be divided into different segments. To start, movement focusing on the mechanics and systems by which it is represented will be studied. Discussion, study, and reflection on the content of the work, will follow. We will conclude by putting
improvisational ideas into practice.

To approach the work, a framework of questions on which the participants develop their physical projects, building their landscape “creations”, and developing the appropriate tools needed to create movement and its representation.

At whom the course is directed: all
those professionals at a medium or advanced level who desire to practise
movement as a tool for choreographic notation.

please send an e-email to aula@lacaldera.info with a short biography(six lines maximum) of work over the last two years.
Twenty places maximum.
Registration period: July 28 to August 14.
